Katharine Hepburn’s Brownies (My favorite!)

These are my favorite brownies, and they really are Katharine Hepburn’s family brownies!

Katharine Hepburn Brownies

2 squares unsweetened chocolate
1/4 pound sweet butter (1 stick)
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 t. vanilla
1/4 cup flour
1/4 t. salt
1 cup chopped walnuts.
Melt the chocolate and the butter together in a pot. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar.
Add eggs and vanilla; beating thoroughly.
Stir in the flour, salt
stir in walnuts
Pour into a greased 8″x8″ metal baking pan. Bake at 325 degrees F. for 40 minutes.
Remove pan to a rack to cool for at least 2 hours. Cut into 12 squares.
Yield: 12 servings
